Medical experts say protests OK because white supremacy "contributes" to COVID

Over 1,200 "public health professionals" signed an open letter this week voicing their support for the George Floyd protests because "white supremacy is a lethal public health issue that predates and contributes to COVID-19.”

They "do not condemn these gatherings as risky for COVID-19 transmission," even though healthcare officials have been telling us for months that large gatherings are ideal settings for spreading the virus.

Instead, they see the protests as "vital" for national public health.

"We support them as vital to the national public health and to the threatened health specifically of Black people in the United States. We can show that support by facilitating safest protesting practices without detracting from demonstrators’ ability to gather and demand change."

The letter gets even more bizarre. While protests against police brutality are acceptable, they say, protests against tyrannical lockdown orders are not. These lockdowns are "rooted in white nationalism."

"This should not be confused with a permissive stance on all gatherings, particularly protests against stay-home orders. Those actions not only oppose public health interventions, but are also rooted in white nationalism and run contrary to respect for Black lives."

Someone should probably tell these "professionals" that the draconian lockdown orders disproportionately affect Americans of color. More people in Black and Hispanic communities have lost their jobs as a result of the COVID stay-at-home orders -- including George Flyod.

Americans are united in their opposition to Floyd's tragic death. They are also united in their support of the right of all Americans to work and pursue their livelihoods without government interference.

The lockdown orders are lifting in many states, but some governors and mayors are still holding out -- even while encouraging their residents to gather in large groups and protest.

Here's an idea -- how about all Americans be free to leave their homes, attend to their work, and protest injustice without top-down mandates from the government? How about Americans be free to pursue their callings as self-governing citizens?

Americans across the country are working to end the lockdowns so that all Americans can be free. Click the red button below to learn more.
