I am concerned with Harris County - mandatory for wearing masks for 39 days & hearing that these drones may be deployed in Dallas. Drones that will monitor for proper social-distancing. The models have not been accurate from the get go.

Elected officials are expected to do the best they are able to protect citizens, but when officials begin monitoring citizens with drones to insure obedience or asking citizens to report on each other to authorities, I think the officials have overstepped the bounds of reason.

The federal and state governments are established by the consent of the people PRIMARILY to secure our natural God given rights, not to dictate them to us. Instead, we have been losing liberties bit by bit and more recently leap by leap as those who would enslave us have wielded the force of government against us. WE the PEOPLE must provide the leadership that elected officials refuse to exercise either because they have been bought by outside interests or because they are weak kneed. It is time that we stop being submissive sheep, blinded by the propaganda foisted on us by the complicit media, and take a loud and united stand against this tyranny which is bankrupting us all and will ultimately drive us into feeble, permanent subservience.

Texas is always a leader, so why is Abbott allowing us to lag behind? I can understand more caution in the larger cities, but what about the counties that don't have any large cities and have been largely unaffected by the virus? These are also the cities and towns that have always been supported by their small businesses more than large companies. Please don't allow Texas to be an agent to further China's attempt at ruining our economy and picking up the spoils for nothing. If we can't support our companies that employ our nation, China will be happy to.
#opentexas
The reason that we are lagging behind is because of all the liberals don't want to do their jobs and represent the people of this great state of Texas and not their own political motives

I have not heard of any protests except for the one they had at the capitol last week. None out here in West Texas so far that I know.
Start one.
We had one at the capitol building in Austin this past Saturday, too; it was posted in the thread about upcoming protests!!
Bastrop county is a largely rural area. We are right next to Austin to the east. Austinites are moving here.
We do have fewer than 50 cases and only 1 death. Nearby counties to our east have 1 or 2 cases. But our county judge has mandated mask wearing for the whole county with penalties of fines and jail.
There is a demonstration on for this Friday the 24th. In the town of Bastrop across the street from the Wells Fargo bank.
I live in Austin County and we've had 12 cases, none of them serious as far as I know, and no deaths. We have been locked down because of our close proximity to Houston so says our mayor. But we are now out of stay-at-home and one of our main restaurants is dine in again following the parameters they were told to do. My son and his family live in Harris County and I go to Katy to shop, eat and watch my grandkids. No damn government is going to tell me I can't see my family, especially my grandkids. If I die I'll at least have them around me. I'm aware of the mask edict passed by Lina Hidalgo. Forcing me to wear a mask to make others feel more comfortable is definitely an infringement on my personal liberty. She attached a $1000 fine to anyone not wearing a mask but Governor Abbott, using an executive order, said no one is to be fined for choosing not to wear a mask. To this Ms. Hidalgo replied whiningly, but I wanted to make sure they understood how important this is. She also threatened a restaurant owner that opened his restaurant a week before the official "opening of the state" saying something about him not following her orders. We seriously need to remind these people they work for us and are not the boss of us in matters concerning Constitutional rights.

Sadly, Texas is not leading.
Texas Gov Hot Wheels has turned out to be spineless too. Thinks people in TX are afraid of the flu. And believes the fake news.
Yes, I am disappointed in this. He has succumbed to the Progressive mindset and is fearful of "opening too much too soon". When the H1N1 went through a few years ago, it affected our children badly. We did not close the schools. Sometimes for a few days to disinfect classrooms, but then the kids went back and life went on. Why did Governor Abbott close the schools? Even Kristi Noem in S.D. closed the schools when she did not impose a stay-at-home order. What is the deal about closing the schools? Definitely to make it harder on society as a whole. The Progressives have been controlling the dialog and optics of this vaccine from the git-go in the hopes they can create enough chaos in the economy and in society to make sure Donald Trump doesn't get a second term. People are starting to see that and protesting, but I'm not seeing enough of the big guns (i.e., governors, mayors and the DOJ) standing up for our rights. AG Barr, who I have a lot of respect for, keeps saying the right things but I'm still seeing citizens being oppressed by police and local governments. Short of voting these people out but not for a while yet, how do we stop this.
@Barbara Haring http://www.askdrbuttar.com/ask/ Dr Buttar has a petition he started to stop this proposal from the Democrats Trace Act...watch his post last night he explains how to get to the link. You can also go to https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/ to sign petitions especially the Bill and Melinda Gates vaccine one...after petition reaches 100,000, government has to officially acknowledge and respond to the people! Share with everyone, these numbers should be far more than what they are now...🤞

We need to get everything open to save our state, 3 years ago when the bad flu was going around so many people died, I was almost one of them, I do have to be on oxygen for the rest of my life but that doesn't stop me and COVID-19 won't stop me either, we need oil prices to go up so my husband can go back to work.
Does he have a job in the refinery business ? I would like to see gas level off at an affordable price because if your on a limited income you don't have the funds to pay 2.45 a gallon for gas which is what it was before all this went down . 1.50 seems it would be affordable but also seems like if the oil co. could sell more the price could come down to earth. . We defiantly don't want to follow Calif. rules and go the way they have .People are leaving the state like rats fleeing from a sinking ship right now because of ridiculous high prices. Oil Co.s dont have to strangle the public and make up excuses for high prices. But I hope your husband finds work soon, I feel for you since I've been there my self . I started out in the oil industry and it's always been shaky for steady jobs the past 30 years .Lay off are very common especially in the field .
I wish I could give you a big hug. There are no guarantees in life at all. On a good day life is a crap shoot. Said by someone who survived a rollover crash on I-10 when someone knocked me off the road while trying to pass. I did a few side rolls and then a couple forward rolls (thank God for seatbelts) and walked away. Using the Coronavirus rhetoric, I should have never "contemplated" driving my car that day because I might be in an accident. We are at risk even in our homes. I am so sorry you suffered from the flu but I totally respect your not being a victim because of what has happened and standing up for the rights of everyone to live their life as much as we can by our own choice..

Some stores are requiring masks but not all and restaurants are not letting any one in just sitting out side in a patio environment with limited seating Collin Co.
We went to the Broken Egg Cafe for brunch yesterday. North of Houston. Ate outside, no masks required. Spatial distancing in place. Beautiful day and meal!
Texas should definitely lead the way. There have been so many lies told, so much hype. I know we must be careful, but, we must not live in fear, fear will destroy us.
https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/nvss/vsrr/covid19/index.htm fake news is giving everyone the wrong death numbers. People are going to be really pissed when the dust settles from this over blown scam. Get out & live people freedom has risks.
Yesterday I saw where the CDC revised their Coronavirus deaths down to around 37,000. The news media is still quoting 66,000 or more. But how do you get this information to people who only listen to the msm and things like CNN and MSNBC?
Impossible, the sheeple will never think for themselves. All we can do is post, repost the truth and pray that we can reach a few. We must use our voices to save our freedom, our sovereignty.
I agree Texas should lead the way to re-open! We all need to call and rite to our state representatives and governor Abbott!! Our governor is a big disappointment!
As the media continues to harp on the number of new cases, remember this. When you have a backlog of unconfirmed cases and you limit the number of tests you do per day, then you expand testing as the spread slows, all you are doing is manipulating the test results to claim an increase in positive results. Testing does not determine when a person was infected so it does not show a trend in new cases. It's simply lying with manipulated statistics.

With so many conflicting stories around, I've decided to go about my business pretty much as usual but avoid crowds, respectful distancing and my usual wash hands.
The draconian measures that was taken and still being taken by some has nearly destroyed our great country. We are the home of the brave, land of the FREE, we must not loose our freedom, our sovereignty in this scare, once lost, it’s gone. I would say if you are afraid stay in, but, let the rest of us lead our lives with caution, of course, but not in fear. Remember, there have been so many lies told,
so much fabrication, so many peoples lives ruined by an overhyped tragedy. We must try to rectify and regain our economy, get our lives back to normal and Make America Great Again.
