1. First the subway and bus system:
Governor Cuomo limited the number of subways and buses running in New York City, packing people in, therefore spreading the Virus, killing the operators also.
2. The nursing homes:
Governor Cuomo, ordered, almost a month ago, the release of virus patients into the nursing homes killing over 3000 seniors.
Then on top of that, Governor Cuomo ordered that the families of the deceased can’t hold anyone accountable due to the New York Immunity Law.
The New York law, Emergency Or Disaster Treatment Protection Act, declares that “any health care facility or health care professional shall have immunity from any liability, civil or criminal, for any harm or damages alleged,” as long as the care is provided in accordance with state rules and affected by “decisions or activities in response to or as a result of the COVID-19 outbreak.” Other states have made similar moves to shield health care workers.
Governor Cuomo is now trying to hold the nursing homes accountable, blaming it on them, even though his ordered release was for the following day, giving the nursing homes, no time to prepare, with supplies etc, needed to protect their patients and their healthcare workers.
It is Governor Cuomo who ordered the release of the patients with the virus.
I live in Pennsylvania, which is a little too close for comfort, to New York.
Even though Gov. Wolf has not been judicious in his decisions regarding the diversity in treatment of the various cities and counties in Pennsylvania, he pales in comparison to Governor Cuomo, who has quite a bit of explaining to do to the people of the United States of America.
Governor Cuomo, head of one of our great states, New York, is not isolated, due to interstate trade, economically speaking, and must be held accountable for his bad decisions.
