Anyone still thinking COVID-19 is as deadly as the media and others wanted us to believe, should check out the latest post from Open States about public health professionals voicing their support for the George Floyd protests (are we still expected to believe people are protesting about his death). Over 1,200 of them wrote an open letter giving their stamp of approval to the thousands of people gathering in close proximity, some committing all sorts of mayhem, because "white supremacy is a lethal public health issue that predates and contributes to COVID-19.” On the other hand, they deemed the protests against the lockdown orders not okay because supposedly those actions were "rooted in white nationalism." First of all, why do people keep repeating this narrative that the lockdown protests were organized by white nationalists? And secondly, am I to believe that the virus is sentient and chooses in which large gatherings it will spread based on the purpose of the gathering and which group organizes it? I call BS. And the fact that the letter was written by public health professionals, people who are supposed to have degrees in the medical sciences, is mind-boggling and frightening.
I feel sad knowing there are people buying this bull. Some days, it seems that the majority of Americans should be wearing t-shirts that read: "If I only had a brain."
