Secoriea Turner is the eight-year old girl killed over the 4th of July weekend when armed BLM/Antifia rioters shot into the vehicle she was riding in with her mom. If you haven't heard the story, you can watch it here: https://youtu.be/gLaP1bnTZds; https://youtu.be/UTEemY1d0dc
Officer Brandon Tatum has started a GoFundMe to help the family with expenses and anything else they need (and to just show love and support). I can't begin to imagine what this family is going through; Secoriea died in her mother's arm. It absolutely broke my heart watching the press briefing with her parents--hearing the anguish in her father and mother's voice as they try to make sense out of what happened, but they can't. I am both saddened and angry. It's so senseless and our mayors and governors are as complicit in Secoriea's death and the deaths of the other children killed over the past few weeks as the criminals who killed them. Celebrities and politicians couldn't seem to do enough to help George Floyd's family in the aftermath of his death--he was buried like a dignitary with three funerals and a gold casket--but I've not heard anyone of them mention Secoriea Turner or the other children killed or offer assistance to their families. I suppose because it doesn't fit their narrative so isn't worthy of their usual "virtual signaling" actions.
I know contributing to a gofundme won't take away the Turners' pain, but it will show them that people care, that people want to support and uplift them, and that we are outraged and deeply saddened by their loss. In some ways that will provide immense comfort. I know it did for my family when my nephew was murdered several years ago. The outpouring of love and support we received then, especially my brother and sister-in-law, to this day it overwhelms us, and it surely is what got us through it all.
