I'm not sure how long this video will be allowed up on YouTube, but this has to be the most terrifying testimony of COVID-19 malpractice that I've seen to date.
EDIT: having watched the full video I can say it's absolutely worth the watch in its entirety. The story at the end is particularly heartbreaking but if you don't have time to watch the entire thing, the first 10 minutes alone will give you a good gist of what's going on there.
It makes one wonder how widespread this is. I think as a population we implicitly trust doctors, nurses and hospitals to know what they are doing and to give us the best treatment possible but I wonder if it's time to give those institutions a bit more scrutiny? Or perhaps create some program to reward nurses like this one who blow the whistle on wide spread corruption within a hospital.
this is a very excellent reason to actually remove all of new york city from any of the registers for obtaining funds for treatments of anything, this is proof that new york city is apparently full of socialist who do not know what they are doing!
Thank you for being brave and doing this under documcover documentation . As a retired RN with 47 years hospital experience I am livid the hospital and resident would be so none compliant with actual standards of practice. This is horrifying and. I'm sorry that you have experienced this and extremely peoud of you for trying to be an advocate for your patients.
Thanks for sharing this. I downloaded the video to my laptop as I've been doing with most of the controversial videos on YouTube. Someone recommended I do that and I've been recommending to others to do likewise.
Yeah same here. In fact since open the states has an option to upload videos when posting I originally tried to upload my copy since I doubt they would take it down, but it doesn't seem to work or at the very least it didn't want to take my .mp4 file...
Hopefully though YouTube will leave it up as it's far enough into the whole coronavirus thing that people who were going to make a decision one way or the other have probably already made it and removing videos won't "protect" anyone at this point.
The video might be too large for the software on this site.
This is worth watching the entire video. I posted it on FB. This is not the only hospital where the untrained and uninformed are treating patients in this manner. We heard from a nurse in Colorado seeing some of these same issues a month ago, people being put on ventilators who shouldn't be. Thanks for sharing.
I've seen a few videos brought up about the use of ventilators before but it's a bit of a tricky situation because COVID-19 in the worst case scenarios can lead to ARDS (which does require the use of a ventilator). And as many doctors have testified, unlike other diseases, this can happen overnight and be full-blown in record time. To make matters worse, some patients don't even seem to realize that they are having issues with getting oxygen until they suddenly black out while going about their daily life (and if they are alone the chances of dying go through the roof).
So taking a COVID-19 patient and immediately putting them on a ventilator isn't always wrong and some nurses are just under-informed on this. But putting a healthy person who has no respiratory issues and has tested negative for COVID-19 not once but twice (as in this video) on a ventilator should be criminal and at the very least be enough to get someone fired and never allowed to work in the medical profession again. And even if the patient does have COVID-19 but isn't at the point where they need a ventilator they shouldn't be given one preemptively due to the damaging stress on the lungs and the increased risk of contracting pneumonia.
I believe there was a doctor in NY who was disciplined for attempting to be make others aware of the ventilator issue, that people were being put on them who shouldn't be and that they were being used incorrectly. I'll have to look up again. A number of doctors who had posted info. on YouTube that didn't fit the narrative have had their videos taken down. While I can understand taking down a video from some random person promoting cures or treatments for the virus, removing videos from actual medical experts makes no sense and does little to foster trust for the platform or the CDC.
Unfortunately the reason that I could see Google going after this video is that there's a decent chunk in there defending the use of hydroxychloroquine and I'm not sure if Google would consider taking it down due to them seeing this as pushing an "unverified cure" or something like that.
For some reason this drug seems to have become a super divisive issue (sadly probably only because Trump talked about it) and while some of us would argue that it's been considered safe for decades, is cheap, readily available and the positive reports from every populated continent on earth make it worth considering others would say I'm insane and anti-scientific and would seek to have me silenced for spreading dangerous unsolicited medical advice. Where Google falls on this I have no idea and even if I did... it's Google. Their stance could change tomorrow :P
