How will you decide Dominic? We’re here and it’s for real
They're real. I joined the Tea Party Patriots in 2010 who Mark Meckler co-founded. I left the Tea Party, but hold them and Mark Meckler in high regards as what they're site represents their beliefs. I liked the Convention of States on Facebook not realizing Mark was a part of it.
All that said ignore the American Revolution 2.0 guy posting events. He's just making calls to action and not a real event organizer.
Krista...I've talked to Josh who is presenting the AR 2.0 guy...seems real to me. He's trying to get folks organized nationally, just like I was in 2009...so that's not a bad thing either, I think.
He seems sincere. The problem is if you're advertising for rallies without knowing the ground situation, that's bad. Most states still offer and require permits for a rally. So if you show up with 1000s of people without a permit or the NUANCE of an unpermitted rally that could be a problem for law enforcement and it could also hurt the movement.
In California our civil rights are being violated. Governor Gavin Newsom refuses to issue permits for ANY and ALL RALLIES!!! We no longer have the right to peaceably assembly to redress our grievances. It's a Constitutional matter, which needs to be taken up in the courts. If it's NOT done right we could lose California. And that's not an understatement.
That's why I'm coming down a little hard on him.
So, Krista, let me get this straight... You advise AGAINST our demonstrating if we can't get a permit (because it might "hurt" the movement, whatever that means? Because the MSM has been so POSITIVE about "End the Lockdown" protestors thus far-?).
Then right after that, you show resentment of the fact that Newsom refuses to issue permits for demonstrations (DUH!!!), which you will nevertheless respect by NOT demonstrating??
In the same post, you negate the efforts of Josh & "AR 2.0 Guy" because they're not getting permits... And then point out that "We no longer have the right to peaceably assemble to redress our grievances."
That isn't what the First Amendment says.
The First Amendment insures we do NOT need a "government permit" to peaceably assemble. That is one of the protections contained within the Amendment: the right to peaceably assemble FULL STOP.
The very notion of a permit requirement implies a bureaucrat can say NO. I'm unclear on why you seem taken aback that a man who already trampled your 1st Amendment protections underfoot (Newsom's oath to enter the office of CA Governor be damned) has just continued his roll.
P.S. His income is steady and uninterrupted, but YOU AND I cannot be allowed to work.
Secondly, the 1st Amendment is not protection of the right to "peaceably assemble to redress our grievances." Read it again. It protects "the right of the people to peaceably assemble" (and also, to petition the government for a redress of grievances). This means the Law of the Land, which we OUGHT to be following even if our governors, mayors, and police are not-- is that YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO PEACEABLY GO TO CHURCH, get your hair done, sell pants, buy paint, visit your mother, and open your restaurant to ANYONE who wants to meet with your or anyone else.
Planning a demonstration is still a useful thing; I agree with you there.
But your argument requires you to throw in the towel because you have greater allegiance to the current, unconstitutional dictates than you do to the CONSTITUTION we are supposedly operating under.
It is still the Law of the Land, no matter how the Criminal Element (read: Newsom, et al.) tries to snow over the populace that "It really isn't."
Be at the Capitol of California on May 1st to protest high noon, "We the People" march and ride!!!
@Krista Muenzer which one is you? All three are smokin hot. Especially wrapped up in old glory! Anyway you've got class. Can you tell me where to find info for Ventura CA. I found a link in here but I can't get back to it to save my life. I don't FB or YouTube.
Is anyone driving or walking around Los Angeles City Hall on May 1st?
The way we did on April 22, Wed?
The best signs I saw were:
My freedom does not end where your fear begins!
Every job that puts food on the table is an essential job!
Viruses do not suspend the Constitution!
No more Psyop. Agenda 21 is slavery!
End the Lockdown!
YOU took an oath-- to defend the 1st Amendment!
Thanks, Krista, for your encouragement (and great graphics!).
I can't make it to Sacramento Friday. Perhaps I should try to set up one for others down here in LA-? Advice and help welcome!
